| Suki was born of a questionable union between the youngest daughter of the Oleander family dynasty and the Tsukishima heir. While the Tsukishima family had some money, they also had mortal blood. This was, of course, frowned upon, but Alia Oleander fell in love with him anyway. The two had one daughter-- Kagome. She wonders often what her parents were like, but she may never know as they both died at a revel shortly after she was born. All signs point to an assassination, but Kagome has never gotten the truth. Most of her young life, she was left to raise herself. She was quite literally a wild child-- not wild like the fae children are, but wild in the sense that she would leave home for days at a time, eat nothing for a day and then as much as she liked the next, and rarely interact with anyone her own age. Instead, she took care of herself. While this made her feel free, it really made her vulnerable. She realized that when the hawks starting circling, as it were. She may have had tainted blood, but she still had money. As she got older, those around her who only wanted her fortune grew in numbers. Kagome quickly learned that the fact that the fae can't lie means very little indeed. Between people pushing their children towards her only to take advantage of her and those who managed to steal away pieces of her father's fortune, Kagome had had enough. She, in what could be consider a tactican's move or a petulant child reacting, hunted down a powerful magician and suggested a trade. Her sight for the ability to see into other's hearts. The magician readily accepted and Kagome got her gift. This was the year before she started attending the Iris Academy. Alia Oleander- Mother, fae Vivica Oleander- Aunt, fae Yuto Tsukishima-- Father, undersea/mortal | Kagome spent most of her childhood alone with those she couldn't trust, ignored by servants and left to run in the woods on her own. The Iris Academy was quite different. With her preternatural senses, she was hyper aware of everyone watching her. She had gotten back what of her father's fortune she could, and she had a different sort of power now. Kagome had been raised to be entirely self sufficient and used to getting her own way. At school, she was something of a social force. She was known as a whirlwind-- she broke apart relationships and friendships because she could. She was built out of jagged edges. In reality, of course, she was just terrified of letting anyone close to her, but she wouldn't show it to her classmates. When she was fourteen, her mother's sister decided it was time to step in. Though her mother's family wanted nothing to do with her for years, her aunt decided that perhaps her neice could be useful. She did have tainted blood, but she had unique abilities as well. Her aunt has been trying to teach Kagome to exist in the finer parts of society, but it has hardly been working. While at school, Kagome started going by Suki. It is her father's name, one thing no one can take from her. And this is faerie. Names have power. | N/A |
personality
Suki loves the bright lights-- the money, the boys. She doesn't really care about protecting her family name as she thinks her mother already ruined that. Being left to raise herself caused her to be very self-sufficient but often unable to interact with others properly. She often acts like the world revolves around her and can't handle not getting what she wants because she has never really experienced it before. On the flip side, she also doesn't like people trying to take care of her and she views it as an insult.

That sentence held in Jeong-ah's mind as he started to speak, but it when he finished, it twisted with the rest of her world.
Was she supposed to be happy? To feel avenged that she was dangerously close to being able to break his heart? She wasn’t. Whatever she had thought winning this game they played was, it wasn’t this.
Was this a Pyrrhic Victory? Was it even a victory? She wasn’t prepared for this. She had fought him so long for something, but it seemed so hazy what she even wanted back then. So much had changed.
She had to say something. If she stayed silent, she was fairly sure she would get lost, simply become the Minotaur, a monster condemned the labyrinth of her own mind.
Monster. That’s what she was fighting for. To fight her own battles, not to need anyone, but to show them exactly how strong she was. Exactly who they were dealing with. Maybe monster was usually a dirty word, but she didn’t think it was such a bad thing to be. She looked up. If he really wanted her, he had to be able to take her.
”Oh?” she asked, dangerously teetering between options. ”Well, isn’t that quite the turnaround. Am I to forget all that we’ve done to each other?” The scars they both bore were a testament. ”Am I to believe that you really forgive me? Am I to forgive you, just like that?” A man who held a grudge for so long would just let it go? It seemed unlikely. ”It seems to me that with your father out of the way with a handy excuse you’ve just cemented your power and doomed me.” She sat up. ”I am not going to choose you just because I’m stuck here. You forget my willpower. And, you seem to forget that the Nazarene was not the only one betrayed by a kiss.”

Suki is blind. This has affected her in many ways, but the fact that she can see other's feelings has also affected her. The main way these two changes affect her outlook is that she has been living through other's eyes. She sees the world as it is perceived. For that reason, it is hard for her to accept that perception isn't reality, because to her it is.
