| Cassie was born in the Undersea, to a mother whom she has no memory of. She was taken in by a matronly faerie, who raised her until her father summoned her to the High Court. She arrived at court and was whisked away by an attendant of her father’s, who explained her parentage and what her father wanted from her. After that came the tutors, whom she learned to charm quickly and flirt with as she got older. If she got in their good graces, they would report to her father how well she was doing. That kept her father off her back and gave her the opportunity to explore the palace and befriend her siblings. | Not much more happened. Cassie stayed in the palace doing her work and avoiding the High Queen, who thought she and all the other illegitimate children of the king were threats to her seat on the throne. She fell into an easy monotony, becoming indirectly molded by her father into the woman he needed her to be. She rebelled occasionally, saying something too racy to an adviser, running around with scullion boys and guards, and the like. She gained a reputation for being a flirt, a strategically created cover for how powerful she truly was. Or at least, how powerful she was going to be. | Once the High King decided to stop wasting the royal tutors’ time on someone who had become much more knowledgeable in diplomacy than they were, Cassie was given a year to travel and make herself familiar with the lands of Faerie. Why he wanted her to familiarize herself with a place whose courts she would not be dealing with was beyond her. But then again, why would she turn down a perfectly good vacation? It was a gap year, per se. So far, she has decided that whichever faerie of whichever court that she meets first at the Blue Moon Revel will be the first place she visits. Cassie was always one for a surprise. |
personality
If Cassie was asked to describe herself, she would just starting flirting with the person who asked. She’s confident and in a very blunt manner. She doesn't care what you think, and she will let you know it. She's also extremely intelligent and can memorize most things very quickly. Cassie pays attention to details, as opposed to the bigger picture, which can often lead her to overthink some things. Everything always turns out in her favor, though. More importantly, she feels extremely strong emotions but struggles with showing affection and apology, which makes people think that she doesn't care, often causing them to grow apart. She is incredibly bold but very introverted. Cassie is somewhat of a wandering spirit and a hopeless romantic. She struggles with having actual intimate relationships, though true feelings are all she craves. One can only have so many flings.

Nothing. It was most certainly something. He was intrigued now, and felt that the girl had been intrigued about him, too. Her prior statement had proven it. He wanted to ask her what her name was, he needed to know her story. He couldn't figure her out. She was blind, she thought he was delicious(?), and she was young. Too young to be alone in a place like this. And yet there was something in her demeanor that showed him she most definitely had seen way, way worse. Why was he drawn to her like a moth to a flame? He knew how it ended for the moth, being the catalyst of many Lepidopteran deaths himself, what with his little incendiary hobby.
He glanced at the girl again and sighed. Adem really should just go home. He was exhausted, and probably didn’t have the mental stamina to go back to the store and experiment without burning the place down. He rubbed a hand over his face and drained the rest of his Gillywater. Another side eye at the girl next to him. That was it. He was leaving before the jumble of thoughts in his brain took control and he ended up doing something bad. Like burning the place down levels of bad.
Adem gathered his bag and slung it across his shoulders. He hoped he wouldn’t get caught being in possession of these ingredients, not like they were illegal to have, exactly, but all of them together would definitely raise some suspicion. Alright, he shook his head slightly, time to go. He stood, laying a few coins on the counter for the bartender and then turning to leave. He scooted the barstool back in under the bar, looked around a little and nodded. His eyes were set on the door. It was time to go home.

None really. Her family is quite complicated though, so I’ll expound upon it here. Cassie’s father is the High King. Her mother is (or was, who knows) an Undersea faerie, who gave birth to her in the Undersea where she lived for the first eight years of her life. Her father summoned her to live at court, knowing her exact parentage, and wanting to use it to his advantage. He began to have tutors teach her, drilling her every day, with the objective of having her become an emissary between the High Court and the Undersea. There she has lived for the past 10 years, in the same palace as her father, whom she has only had one real conversation with.
