welcome to Midsummer
Welcome to the wilds of Faerie, where deception and intrigue wind through the courts of the fae. Revels overflow with excess, beauty, and betrayal, while the students of the Iris Academy learn to take their place in a world where nothing is ever as it seems. Now, as a blue moon rises, the reigning High Court prepares to make peace with the Undersea, but peace is not something that rises easily from the ashes. Beware wandering into a faerie circle, mortals, and never strike a bargain with the fae; they may not be able to lie, but they are always hiding something.

Site Lore
The Faewild is comprised of four Cardinal Courts, plus the ruling High Court and the Undersea. The Seelie Courts, North and South, are slightly more traditional and straightforward (as much as the fae ever are), which their Unseelie counterparts to the East and West are duplicitous and wild.
Farthest south, beneath the waves, lies the Undersea, home to the pearl-encrusted Sunken City. The Undersea fae are a proud people—perhaps too much so, according to some of their counterparts on dry land. All of the Faewild is ruled by the High Court, whose power is personified in the High King and Queen. By wearing this crown, they take on the spirit of the Faewild; their hearts beat with the heart of the land. Beware, and choose your words carefully: the fae are a capricious and tricky people, as fickle as they are cunning, and their rulers are the most of all.

It was a quiet afternoon.
Michael had just wanted that honestly, while his parents were fighting again. So he’d gone to the one place that he could get away from them easily: the forest. He’d gone there many times throughout his life. After all, Massachusetts was full of them. But today he’d stayed out far longer; early enough he’d still been in his TMNT pajamas, and gone far deeper to hammer home how tired of the fighting he was.
He wasn’t running away, but a part of him honestly felt like he wanted to.
Instead; he’d stopped in a clearing deep inside and sat on a log. It wasn’t dark out, probably just late afternoon. So he still had time before his mother would tan his hide about being out for so damn long.
He hummed and sang a song to himself calmly, plucking a flower from the ground absent-mindedly. “I should have brought a game or something… Now I’m bored.” He huffed. At only barely thirteen he still felt a little childish in that sense but still. “I wonder what I’d find even deeper?” He muttered.
Did he even dare? Far were the last thing on his mind when you had bears and the lot to deal with. But Michael wasn’t afraid either, he was nothing if not headstrong and adventurous as he mowed over his options.

Sometimes, Nero appreciated the human world. Humans were so... finite. They burned like brilliant candles, making use of their short lives before they reached the end of their wick. There were days when he was almost envious of the passion they held. Their 'long term' was a handful of years, his was centuries. Of course they had to be driven to achieve, or they would never go anywhere. Other times, he pitied them more than anything for their mortality. He was in one of his more admiring moods when he made his crossing into the human lands to gather herbs. He'd chosen to wander alone, preferring his own thoughts to even the companionship of an enjoyable friend. There was much to be done in a relatively short time, and he wanted to see it done with few distractions. While his gathering could be done closer to home, he didn't much see the point of being free if he didn't use that freedom to wander where he wanted? Besides, the air of the human lands tasted different in a rather pleasant way. His gathering trail carried him to the edge of a clearing, where he found that he was not so alone as he first assumed. There, sitting on a log in the middle of a clearing, was a mortal child. Nero had not seen a mortal in a long while, and he was always taken in by how different they were from the folk. Broader, sturdier, and far less graceful. He cocked his head in a nearly avian gesture, eyes fixed on the boy as he watched his movements- again, so very different. Fascinating. His sharp ears caught the words the boy muttered to himself. “I wonder what I’d find even deeper?”
Nero grinned at that, revealing elongated canines that were certainly not human. Curious thing, was he? " I suppose you'd find all sorts of wonderful and terrible things," he replied cheerfully, stepping out from the trees to continue his gathering at the edge of the clearing. Tag: michael,

Michael jumped a little at the sound of a voice.
Who the hell was out this far? Well, he guessed he was - but even then this guy seemed to come out from even deeper? That was definitely unusual for him, to say the least. Michael was less focused on his teeth and more on his odd appearance. While he couldn’t quite a finger on it something felt off.
That said, Michael wasn’t afraid like most kids his age might have been. If he had been he wouldn’t be barefoot in pajamas in the middle of a forest right? Instead, the mysterious stranger lightly intrigued him. Was he a hermit out in the forest or something else?
Either way, rather than avoid him, he calmly approached with great curiosity. “I didn’t even think anyone else came out this far. Honestly, I usually have the place to myself,” Something about how his family owned some part of the land. But Michael didn’t really pay attention to those things. “I don’t think they’re that scary though. You just have to know your way around them.”
He did however poke his head around him with a questioning. “Where did you come from anyway?”
