history
Childhood | Teenage Years | Adulthood |
Lucio was not born a noble. Born with an exquisite beauty that attracted the attention of the west court, he was trained as a servant to a noble family after his family traded him away to ensure the future of their other children. it was thusly that Lucio was inducted into the world of fae governance. while he served his masters, he watched, and listened. he never asked the many questions that arose in his mind, and never voiced his inability to understand the fae or humankind, with whom they so often meddled. he merely watched, and told what he had seen to nobles who would reward him with candy and praise. As he watched, he began to feel that this world was not for him, and so his sights became set on the world of man. with every moment of free time he had, he buried himself in books, and learned as much as he could, until he finally decided to escape to the human world, something he intended to do while attending a noble visiting the human world for their own reasons. Instead of freedom, Lucio discovered a world as horribly foreign to him as his home in the faewild. It was then that his master was accosted by an assassin sent by a political rival, and tortured to death, as he refused to become a pawn by divulging his true name. It was then that Lucio, hidden from the assassin, escaped, albeit, back to the faewild. His testimony revealed the guilty party, and led to their execution, an undertaking that Lucio watched, as he always did, now with eyes that held a newfound sadness. It was then that he decided to begin his ascent of the court. | Lucio quickly proved his capable mind, and those who surrounded him often found themselves confiding in the boy, and considering his innocent and naive questions and statements as though they possessed a profound weight. at the mere age of twelve he was considered beautiful and intelligent, and quickly acquired the opportunity to become apprenticed to a west court advisor who attended the west courts entourage to the high court. the official payed for Lucio to attend Iris academy, and Lucio did so with enthusiasm, learning as much as he could in his time at the school of theory, proving himself not only a proper philosopher, but a capable wielder of magic as well. Lucio however, was often pulled from his classes to attend to court matters, something that never seemed to affect his perfect grades. in his penultimate year he took on yet another responsibility, and replaced the official that advised the west court representative. In this position, he accquired the attention of the west court representative, and yet again, was taken under an officials wing. | After several years in his advisor position, the west court representative retired, and Lucio was named in his stead. he held this position for nearly a decade, his ideals causing occasional friction in the court, but never exceeding his bounds, and always quickly hidden again behind his sophisticated bearing as a servant of the west. Lucio was now among the top of this world he found so distasteful, able to view it as the grandest vista he'd yet acquired, but he was by no means finished. It was his intent to climb even higher, to a sight grander than any other, the overlook of High King, where his vision for a world in which he belonged could be truly realized. In the course of his political career, he came to learn of a plot brewing in the west court, the new generation of an old world family that hunted the fae had just been born, and could, with intervention, become the end of the clans bloodline. Lucio became involved with this plot, intending to add the destruction of the viola family to his many accolades he required to ascend to the throne. As he and his coconspirators infiltrated the courtyard of the viola family estate, and killed the tutor that watched over the child as he watched the central fountain, Lucio halted. He found that he did not see his own assured future, but instead, a three year old toddler born into a suffering world in which they did not, should not belong. He turned to stop what was happening, but his coconspirators, eyes gleaming with the same ambition that Lucio held in his heart, did not relent. Lucio was outnumbered, and fought until wounded beyond his ability to move, having killed his fellows. believing he was as good as dead, he told the child his true name, that he might live on in the child he had saved. On the edge of death, brans family found the boy and his savior, and resuscitated him as brans personal pet. broken from pain, and locked in a chamber in the viola estate, Lucio, his mind already deteriorated from his time at deaths door, loses his mind and personality over the course of the boy's growth, knowing only his occasional order, an empty room, and silence. now, the boy is an adult, and Lucio lies sprawled across the grand piano in the chamber where he's kept, idly tracing his fingers against the same key, as he waits for his master to call for him. |
personality
in the past, Lucio was fiercely intelligent and beautiful, but above all else valued his own ambition, with which he intended to realize his ideals. Now, Lucio behaves almost as a ghost, incapable of speech, or any thought beyond the orders of his new master, Bran Viola. occasionally, his past sophistication surfaces momentarily, seeming slightly more at peace when he is witness to fine art, or a note on a grand piano, an instrument he once enjoyed.
special situations
This is the place to let us know about any special abilities or disabilities your character has that might affect either their time at school/work or their time on site overall. Also, if your character is a prodigy in a certain area, please put the area here and explain the ways that this is necessary to develop their character.
When he was still himself, Lucio was a genius, but most of those faculties have now been lost. he still retains his ability with magic, something he requires as it is currently the only role he plays, as Brans living tool. his past genius is required to highlight the juxtaposition between his past and present, and won't affect role-play anyway, as he no longer has this faculty
