welcome to Midsummer
Welcome to the wilds of Faerie, where deception and intrigue wind through the courts of the fae. Revels overflow with excess, beauty, and betrayal, while the students of the Iris Academy learn to take their place in a world where nothing is ever as it seems. Now, as a blue moon rises, the reigning High Court prepares to make peace with the Undersea, but peace is not something that rises easily from the ashes. Beware wandering into a faerie circle, mortals, and never strike a bargain with the fae; they may not be able to lie, but they are always hiding something.

Site Lore
The Faewild is comprised of four Cardinal Courts, plus the ruling High Court and the Undersea. The Seelie Courts, North and South, are slightly more traditional and straightforward (as much as the fae ever are), which their Unseelie counterparts to the East and West are duplicitous and wild.
Farthest south, beneath the waves, lies the Undersea, home to the pearl-encrusted Sunken City. The Undersea fae are a proud people—perhaps too much so, according to some of their counterparts on dry land. All of the Faewild is ruled by the High Court, whose power is personified in the High King and Queen. By wearing this crown, they take on the spirit of the Faewild; their hearts beat with the heart of the land. Beware, and choose your words carefully: the fae are a capricious and tricky people, as fickle as they are cunning, and their rulers are the most of all.

Adem’s heart dropped. One taste of her would never be enough. Ever. But he couldn’t say that. He didn’t know what he should say. Suki was all sharp, bristling edges and jagged thorns. He knew there was a beautiful rose under all of that, but she hid it. That rose was her true self, her true feelings. Unfortunately, he thought, she had learned to think of them as her weakness, something to be ashamed of. But didn’t Adem act the same way? He hid himself just as much as Suki did. He’d built walls and fortified them. He didn’t like letting anyone in. Maybe that was what brought them together. Her grip was still like an iron manacle around his wrist. It hurt, but Adem let the pain ground him. Adem almost winced at her harsh words, but he fought to remain passive. “One taste could never be enough,” he murmured. “You should know that by now.” He wondered, absently, how different Suki would have been if her parents had never been killed. What if they’d never died, and her aunt had never charged him with looking out for her? These past years would have been boring for sure. He stroked her hair gently with his free hand. “But if you had only let me have that one taste, I wouldn’t have pressured you for more.” It was her choice, not his. No one could say which of the two of them was more reckless. Outwardly, maybe, they’d think it was Suki. They’d wonder why he’d entrust himself to her. Adem had made unforgivable choices though. He didn’t think he could trust himself anymore. He was broken out of his reverie by Suki, her hair sliding through his fingers as she turned away from him, releasing his wrist from her grip. Adem drew his hand away from her hair, rubbing his wrist absentmindedly. She’d drawn blood, and would probably leave him with a scar. Well, five scars, each in the shape of a crescent. He smiled sadly as she spoke. He could hear the fear in her voice, but he chose to ignore it. “Yes.” he replied, his voice steady and reassuring. “You may sleep for a long time, but that’s okay. Your body needs to rest so that it can recover.” He paused, letting the quiet of the dormitory smooth over his words. “And I swear I will be here when you wake up.” ★ faiI placed my bets, and it's not worth anything.

Now it don't mean a thing Love Is just embarassing
Suki was angry with him, and it was such an illogical anger too, because why was she wishing that he was cruel? Why was she wishing that she couldn't trust him? Why would that make this all easier?
She had been poisoned before. When she was two. She was two and she was sick and she didn't think anything of it at the time, but now she did. Because her mother was scared, and even that young, Suki knew it was bad. She had never seen her mother that scared. And so she was tiny and she was sick and she might have been dying, and all she remembered was the smell of sage and her mother's fear.
This was nothing like that.
The fae didn't get sick. She might have been one-quarter mortal, technically, but it didn't matter. The fae didn't get ill, and they didn't age.
They could still be killed. And someone was trying, and they had almost succeeded. They had succeeded with her mother.
So. Her mother was dead but Suki had survived. Kagome. The beloved. The lost. The survivor. The one eternally alone. She had survived again. So many people had tried to kill that in times like these, she didn't even remember all of them. She remembered the fear, though.
And she was afraid now. And it was fine to be afraid when your mother was standing over you and you were two, but it was not fine to be afraid when you were alone, alone in the world and alone in your goals. She knew now that she could only trust herself.
But she wanted to trust him. Desperately she wanted to trust him. Painfully, she wanted to trust him. She had left scars on him and she would only leave more, because she either pulled the knife out and left them to bleed or never let go and strangled them. No one had survived her yet. No one but herself. She was too much, and being less meant letting herself die and letting herself give up.
She was alive now. He was sure she would survive. Out of irony only, she was sure she would too. Girls like her didn't die. Maybe they never properly lived, but they didn't die either. They were built of steel and iron and poison. That wasn't an easy combo to kill or to love. Both meant bleeding, at least a little.
She shouldn't be angry now, but she was an angry girl, just as sure as he was a kind soul. She was angry because angry was so much better than afraid, because if she was angry with him for being kind she wouldn't be afraid, or worse, she wouldn't love him for it.
She couldn't love him. She couldn't, she couldn't, she couldn't.
But she was the girl who ran headfirst into the fight and started fires wherever she went. She was the girl that held everyone like they were a weapon to be used or something to break. She was the girl that did everything she didn't, and always wanted what was bad for her.
This wasn't different.
He was different.
